Final images

Why are my final images 3D? I feel my analogue final outcome is 3D because by layering images it creates depth with in the image, there is visual depth then physical depth in the photo. It makes the image appear 3D because of the rips within the image. I think this appears more 3D compared to the digital outcome. I think my digital final outcome is 3D because it also has depth in the image. I feel that this outcome has more visual depth then physical. I think this is because the edges between the different images is smooth and less rough then my analogue.   Digital Final This is my final digital outcome, I took it two images into photoshop and layered them over each-other. I then used lasso tool to select areas of the image on the top. Making a layer out of this selected area and then deleting the layer whole image. I repeated this many times taking different areas of the image and combining them over a compete image. I think this works well because the images have similar co...

unit 6 update

Digital 3d I put a photo into photoshop layer> layer style > untick the red and move it slightly off centre. Also change the opacity of the layer. This creates the 3D effect of not wearing the red and blue 3d glasses.   I like the appearance of these type of images. However, if I was going to use this method as a final the old style 3D glasses would be needed. Although, I am not sure if the image would work with the glasses.

Digital I took two photos into photoshop, sometimes they were different and sometimes they were the same image. I then cut out sections of the top layer to present another image or section underneath. I used the rectangular marquee tool and the lasso tool to create different shapes. With the first one I use two different photos photos and cut areas out of the top layer. The problem I had with this was the black background made it difficult to see the areas that are cut from the other. With the other I used the same photo but I enlarged it slightly and made it go off centred I used the rectangular marquee tool to make the sections rectangular. I feel that this one works better then the first photo.

update- Tuesday Lenticular This is when there is two pictures within one. You angle the different photos in different positions so that when you look from one angle you see one photo and when you look from a different angle you see another image. For example below you can see a squirrel from one way and a pigeon from another. You can do this by using a lenticular lens or by folding pieces of paper and sticking the slices of photos onto each side. Digital - I experimented with using the lenticular method digitally through cutting two images up and combining them on photoshop, I don't think this way works as well as the analogue image. I thought you could cut it out and stick it onto card and fold the images to create a lenticular. Analogue I had a experiment at the Lenticular technique. I combined two similar portraits together and cut them into equal sections, stuck them onto a sheet of a4 paper and folded each of the different sections a different direction. I think it went...

3D write up

Image
On Tuesday I used my high key photos and experimented with different ways to make them 3D. I used a range of different techniques using collage and overlaying them. I cut them, layered and tore them. The first one I produced was layering two different portraits on top of each other, I then cut, ripped and scratched the first one to reveal one underneath. It showed the repetition of different facial items. The second one, I printed the same photo twice and used foam to build part of the image up. I thought this technique could be perfected by building them higher and at different levels, in different areas. The final one which I thought work best was printing the same photo twice and slicing different shapes out of the top one to reveal the same image below, I then aligned the two photos so that they weren't lined up properly to create a interesting effect as you can see the photo multiple times. I thought maybe I could do this a few times. The tools I used were s...

unit 6 3D digital and analogue

Analogue All of these techniques can be used for either digital or analogue. However, this is the way I would use them. Use analogue, such as film negative images to project them onto on object. I could use the enlarger, light sensitive paint or acetate. I could possible project images on to objects. Digital use digital images to overlay and create a collage by building them up. I could combine different photos together. I could cut, rip, scratch and place other objects on top of images. Montague and collage. I could use the Japanese crystal ball by taking a photo and put it behind to create another 3D image.
